Description
For a moment, I didn't draw a villain.
So let me take a moment to talk about the one Disney movie that was also a big impact on my childhood along with Beauty and the Beast and maybe furry Hamlet... Aladdin. Even though the original tale in the Arabian Knights took place in China and the movie here has some anachronism screw (I can't possibly think of the character who does such a thing, because he's got all this power in a little living space sort of thing), but it's still a good movie... But it's also where you can find my favorite of the Disney Princess, Jasmine.
I don't know, maybe it's because she has a pet tiger, or perhaps that she was able to slip out of the palace to see what's beyond her garden walls, or maybe it's because she is an action girl to some degree (let's not forget that this movie spawned a TV show for a while, where she had her moments)... Although it could be that I like her for other reasons, but either way, I'd say she's my favorite of the princesses.
I was kinda concerned with how she would look when I drew her, because I knew I wouldn't be following the model to the T. I "blame" the thickness of her on a consumption of too many baked goods and sweets (but personally she looks better this way and kind of fits the more "make the Disney characters look more realistic" idea). The outfit though did need some more added to it, while she wears a good mix of outfits in the movie, theme parks, and promotional material, I feel like her initial outfit is too plain and could use some more jewelry.
Oh that figurine she's holding. It's a gazelle. In the Arabian culture, the gazelle is seen as an animal of beauty and grace, and essentially is their idea of a "sexy" critter... (Similar to foxes in America)... Does this remind you of anything?
